THE ABORIGINALS

As part of the Grassroots Technology in the classroom initiative the Gr. 5/6 class (2002/03) at St. Anthony Daniel school has created slide show presentations using Corel Presentations and published them to the internet. If you follow the links below you may begin.

The slide show link takes you to the slide shows created by the students. In them you will find description of culture, shelter, food and entertainment of a tribe that inhabits each of the six Canadian regions.

The teachers link will take you to a page which has a student activity to reinforce the knowledge acquired above. It is a WEBQUEST which will involve the use of the internet to discover answers to questions posed. The questions are directly related to expectations taken from the Ontario Social Science curriculmn for Grade 5 and 6.

Students have also included reflections on the project and we have posted them here for you to read.

We have also collaborated with some other schools. They have completed the webquest and provided answers to the questions presented in the webquest and included a reflection of the assignment (ie. what they thought of it etc.) Click here to view them
